Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway ~ Proverbs 8:34
Leaders face daunting tasks and delicate decisions daily. In the whirlwind of ministry how do you know you are making the right ones?
It has been said that God gave us two ears, but only one mouth, for two reasons:
First, He wants us to spend twice as much time listening as talking. And second, because God knows listening is twice as difficult as talking!
There is something heart changing that occurs as I exit off the highway of frenzied activity and stop by the doorway of the Savior. What can compare to the Master Teacher’s genuine care coupled with His sage insight? What greater source of wisdom, direction, encouragement, and perspective is there to navigate the daunting tasks and delicate decisions I face along life’s journey?
As I remember that God has my very best interests in mind, that He is all powerful, and that He truly sees and knows all things, why not choose to listen up?
